About MacMurray College

MacMurray College is a career-directed liberal arts college located in Jacksonville, which is the county seat of Morgan County, located in the US state of Illinois, with more than 18 000 people, living within its limits, according to the 2000 census estimate.

MacMurray was established in 1846, as the Illinois Conference Female Academy, by a group of Methodist clergymen. It is one of the oldest institutions of higher education originally for women in the United States, remaining so until 1969, when it officially became co-ed. It currently offers its students a 32-major liberal arts curriculum with both Associates and Bachelors degrees.

Athletics

MacMurray's athletic teams are known as the Highlanders and they compete in NCAA Division III, as part of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Their distinctive colors are scarlet and navy.
